Biography

Izzy Sparks lives in  England, with her partner, her daughter.
Born in Rome the 25th of September 1973 she showed artistic talent from a very early age and attended a school for Graphic Designer from which she graduated in 1992.
As she faced many obstacles to put her diploma as a designer to use in employment challenged Rome, she took whatever j...ob she could: from freelancing to supernumerary jobs for the Italian national TV, from PA to tarot reader. Anything to make a living but that she quickly realized would take her nowhere close to where she wanted to be. She always dreamt to move in Uk and so she did with her best friend in December 1999.
Settling in Manchester, she worked for two years in housekeeping while becoming fluent in English and then starting a career in retail.
Fine Arts were still part of her life but it slowly turned into a hobby, a dream she never thought would become reality.
At the beginning of 2008 she met her partner and soon after their daughter was born in March 2009 she moved in Yorkshire where she decided to become an housewife and take some time off to raise her little girl.
As the child grew up and was about to start school, Izzy realised she would not be able to find a job to suit her schedule, yet she was going to have some amount of free time to pursue something new.
In March 2013, after an unexpected talk with a stranger on line, she realized how she had forgotten who she was and what she loved to do, letting life lead her instead of taking the lead and going where she wanted to go; it particularly applied to drawing and painting, in fact her passion had become a rare occasion of enjoyment when once it used to be all her life.
The person she was talking to challenged her to start over, make her dream of being a recognized artist come true.
Of that person she says:” It's strange how all in a sudden I found myself telling them I didn't know where I was or who I was any more as I didn't know them or talked to them before, but sometimes we feel safer to speak to strangers than to people we love for fear of disappointing them.
They asked me what I loved to do and I said that I loved to draw.
They asked me why wasn't I drawing and I started to make a list of excuses: family, time, money...
After they were served my long list of "can'ts" they simply said: “Just draw, paint, do whatever makes you happy, you only have this life to do it, do what you love and see where it leads you, you never know” and something clicked in me.
They told me a bit of their story and I felt inspired: this person had changed their life and pursued something they really wanted throwing away all the plans and hard work they had put into a career they didn't love, it had been hard to start with but they were happier now, and succeeded at realizing their dream.
I was inspired by the courage it must have taken for them to change their fate against all odds and do what they truly love, be where they wanted to be, and I was touched by their kindness to share their life experience with me and shine some light in my dark moment when I felt lost.
After that time we never spoke again, but this stranger is always in my prayers.
You see, inspiration can come from everywhere, often when we don't expect it; sometimes from places which we don't expect it from. My lesson was to open my mind and my heart and let my Muse in, let my Muse take me without resistance and simply follow.
Your Muse comes in many forms and shapes but goes in only one direction, which is the one you are meant to go, to do the things you love and be in the place you are meant to be.
